Thundercats Ho

There isn't a kid alive, that was born in the 80's. That doesn't remember that ICONIC theme tune.
Even now, looking at this cover I can hear it. I love the Thundercats. I could draw them forever.
I am really enjoying the new series from Declan Shalvey and Drew Moss for Dynamite.

Here is a little sample cover.

Absolute Batman

I love when writers take existing characters and start over with a new story and a new mythology.
Batman will always be Batman. And Batman is cool! But to give him a different story and/or motivations, is always exciting to dive into. I am really enjoying the new run from Scott Synder and Nick Dragotta.

Here is a little something fun I created after reading the first couple of issues.

Ringo Awards/Superman

I recently went to Baltimore Comic Con for the first time last month. It was my first time at the show. I flew to the show because I was nominated for a Ringo Award in the category of Best Cover Artist at this years Ringo's. I didn't win. I knew I wasn't going to because of who I was up against but it was still an incredible honour to be mentioned in same sentence with such incredible artist. It was a fantastic trip and I am really happy to have had some of the best people in the business look over my Samples and offer constructive feedback.

I feel like I am getting closer to achieving my dream.....

While on the subject of achieving my dreams. I was recently introduced to a fantastic writer who I have followed for quite sometime. Dave Wielgosz. Dave is a fantastic writer and editor and he is killing it on many fantastic titles he has written this year. I have a feeling we will be seeing his name on so many great titles in the coming months.

I feel very fortunate to have had Dave help me a lot this year. He has allowed me to work on his stories and has also given feedback to where I can improve on my pages and really look at where/what I should be focusing on in order to reach the next level.

Thank you Dave. I appreciate it mate.

Spider-Man 2099: Sample Pages

I went to New York Comic Con for the first time last October. It was a fantastic trip and really opened my eyes to the talent that is out there in comic books. I knew the talent was there but there is a really big difference in knowing vs seeing it first hand. I was over to show off my portfolio pages and was feeling confident about them. Boy was I not ready.

It wasn't a great trip in terms of getting work or even getting my work seen but it was great for meeting new artists. Meeting artists who's work I have loved and even showing my work to artists and getting some feedback.

While on the subject of meeting great people. I was introduced to a fantastic writer who I have followed for quite sometime. Steve Orlando. Steve was an absolute gentleman and writes/releases more books than I ever thought possible. When a new book comes out each week, It is no surprise that he is probably writing it. I call him the busiest man in comics. He is writing some of my favourite books out right now.

Steve has been very generous and allowed me to work from one of his previously released scripts for Spider-Man 209: Exodus.

So without further delay.

Here are my new comic sample pages for Spider-Man 2099

UFO Robot Grendizer

I have been very fortunate to work on some really cool projects in my time in comics. This is one of those projects. The original anime for Grendizer also know as Goldorak was a bit before my time. But diving back into the lore has been so much fun. I love drawing giant robots and would love to do a series of it one day. I really hope to do more of this character soon. I am also very happy to be working with Titan Comics again too.

Cable

I have never drawn Cable but I have always thought that he was one of the coolest characters I have ever seen. I love Rob Liefeld. I think he is a fantastic champion of comic books and he has created some of the most iconic characters we see today. Deadpool, Cable & Profit but to name a few.
I have enjoyed seeing Cable back in the magnificent X-Men97 cartoon recently.
So I got inspired to give him a go.
Guns, future soldier, super powers and a metal arm.
What's not to love!!

TMNT Black, White & Green

TMNT will always hold a special place in my heart. I am actively going after an official cover for any one, of the many IDW Turtles books. I won't rest until I get one. Until then, I will showcase and hopefully, show out. Until I get the chance to do one.

Comic Are Dying

I was incredibly lucky and humbled to be asked to contribute a page to Louis Southard's monumental undertaking of bringing over 100 different artists together to do over 100 different pages telling the history of comic books. It really was a great book to be a part of.
And, my page was in relation to the fantastic story The Death of Superman.

It was great to work with JP on this one again. His colours are going from strength to strength.

Hellboy

Here is a commission I did recently for a client in New York. I have never drawn Hellboy before so I tried to incorporate some Mignola elements in there like the skulls and inking style, while still making it feel like it was my own thing.

Rogue Sun

Rogue Sun is one of the best new superhero comics out right now. Great story. Great characters and it is set in a great place like "The Big Easy" New Orleans. I would love to jump on this one officially some time. I think it would be cool to do a piece for each of the Massive Verse characters. Until then. I give you Dylan Siegel.
